About Me
A
Bit About Me
This
page is to let you know a little about me, and the reasons behind offering
the services explained on these pages.
My name is Dorothy (I also answer to Dot among other things!)
I live in Milton Keynes with Jim, my partner of eight years, and our three
house cats, Joshua, Jasper and Jake. I have three grown up children and three
Grandchildren. Jim will be helping me with weekend visits and my eldest son,
Adam, will assist in heavier garden work.
I was born in Slough in 1948 the youngest of five children. One of the earliest
pictures of me is in my pram surrounded by baby rabbits. A very early memory
is of being sent down the garden to feed the chickens and the dread of knowing
the cockerel would attack my hand as I scattered the corn in the run. It may
sound idyllic but, unfortunately, it was all to help the post war food shortage,
so we won't go any further into that.
Things soon changed and looking back, I really did have an idyllic childhood
surrounded by a menagerie of animals that were now purely pets, and a very
happy and busy household.
By my mid twenties I was married with three young children and guess what
else? Yes, a house full of assorted animals. Over the years this has included
just about everything from stick insects to snakes, with lots of furry things
in between. We always had a dog and enjoyed their companionship but cats are
my passion and have fascinated me all my life. For a few years when the children
were young and time allowed, I showed and bred Siamese and Devon Rex cats.
And so to the present day, it's me, Jim and our three "boys".
Most of our spare time is taken up by our garden. It has changed out of all
recognition in the eight years we have lived here. It started out laid to
lawn with narrow border all around and a small pond. It is now how you see
it on the pictures page. We keep saying "that's
it, It's finished", but it never is, along comes another project and
we're off again!
So why Four Seasons? As with many life changing events it happened more by
accident than design. I had been a home carer with the local council for five
years and was looking for a change in direction but did not know which way
to go. A chance meeting with Annette, who for two years had looked after our
cats etc when we were away, fired my imagination. She had decided she wanted
more time to do other things and suggested I took over part of her customer
base. The seed was sown and quickly grew into Four Seasons.
We hope the range of services offered will mean that our clients can have
complete peace of mind while away from home, whether on holiday or at work.
We have based these services on what we want for our pets, home and garden,
when we are away from home, and, just as importantly on our return. We hope
they are what you, our potential customers, want for some of the most important
things in your life,
YOUR PETS YOUR HOME AND YOUR GARDEN
